As a national union representing medical residents and fellows, CIR hosts an annual convention that brings together delegates from across the country to collaborate, exchange ideas, and shape priorities for the year ahead. For their 2024 convention in the Washington, D.C. area, they sought to elevate the overall experience—creating an environment that felt more engaging, visually compelling, and reflective of the energy of their community.
the Opportunity
SG3 Events partnered with CIR to reimagine the convention experience through thoughtful design and intentional guest engagement. We began by developing a cohesive visual direction, anchored by a refined and elevated stage design that introduced depth, texture, and warmth through layered elements, including furnishings and floral.
Beyond the stage, we curated interactive moments designed to invite participation and create a more dynamic environment—from a custom magazine-style photo experience to bold, statement signage that encouraged guests to engage, capture, and share. The welcome reception was designed as an inviting and visually striking outdoor experience, setting the tone for the days that followed.
Each element was approached with intention—balancing aesthetic impact with functionality—to create a convention that felt both elevated and energizing.
