Maximus initially engaged SG3 Events nearly two years ahead of their milestone celebration, inviting our team to develop a strategic vision for their 50th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of the Maximus Foundation.

The goal was to create an elevated, large-scale experience that would bring together leadership, employees, and key partners to celebrate decades of impact—while thoughtfully highlighting the organization’s legacy and the foundation’s meaningful contributions.

With an initial guest count of up to 1,000 attendees and a prestigious venue secured at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, the opportunity called for a highly curated experience that balanced powerful storytelling, refined design, and seamless execution.

Just three weeks before the event, an unexpected government shutdown resulted in the closure of the original venue—introducing a significant logistical and creative challenge that required a full relocation and rapid reimagining of the event.

SG3 Events led the planning and design of the celebration from inception through execution, working closely with the Maximus team over an extended planning period to thoughtfully shape the event experience.

Our approach focused on creating a sophisticated and immersive evening—one that honored the significance of the milestone while delivering a guest experience that felt both intentional and memorable. From program flow and spatial design to vendor curation and production, every element was carefully considered to align with the vision and scale of the event.

When the venue change occurred, our team moved quickly to secure a new location at the Washington National Cathedral and led a complete transformation of the event plan. This required rapid coordination across all vendors, thoughtful adaptation of the design, and precise logistical execution to ensure continuity across every detail.
